The buzz word of 2017: a growth mindset!

What is that? Well, what it really means is to be able to bounce back when the sh1t hits the fan. Or put it this way: having emotional resilience. Something we really want our kids to have as we send them out into the big wide world. Knowing you have emotional resilience means you can say 'hey I've got this!' to whatever the Universe decides to send your way.

A lot of us struggle with that don't we?

Being able to see things more positively and move on.  Sometimes it takes hours or days. Other times, well only wine or chocolate will do (I'm not an advocate of the last two by the way).

So that's why I created my box of Smiley Thought Cards. I want your family to grow up with a growth mindset and I want you to be able to climb out of the darkness triumphant when life knocks you down. Or better still, not fall prey to the darkness in the first place. Most of those dark places are in my mind and they are just pesky thoughts and worries. They aren't real.

I made them especially for you!

These cards are like I've taken all my Smiley sayings from my coaching room and put them in a box that you can go to whenever you need to. I don't wait until I need to, I do mine every morning with a cuppa because prevention, as they say, is better than cure.

When I first made this little box of magical cards  I didn't want to be prescriptive. As is my way (and you will know if you have worked with me), I like people to style it out in a way that is right for them. I don't know about you, but I hate being told what to do - not in a diva-ish way but really there isn't one way to skin a cat and so the beauty of the cards becomes yours when you work it out for yourself.

I even put two blank cards in the box so that children could create some of their own Smiley Thought Cards.

People keep telling me: 'I've got a box of cards but we are not really sure what to do with them?!!!'

These beauties were not made with love and Smileyness to get cobwebbed up on your shelf or fall to the bottom of your sock drawer never to be seen again. Oh no.

It feels like you may need a little help and direction. That's fine, I'm always here to help. I like helping people that's my job.

So here is a little book of love, encouragement, positivity and confidence with lots of quick and easy ways to make the Smiley Thought Cards part of your everyday life because that is the only way that they will work.

Now print this off, go and grab your cards from the bottom of your sock drawer and brush off the cobwebs. Have fun with them and if you have any other ideas to add to the list, please get in touch. My email is

I can't wait to hear what you do with them. Oh and if you haven't got a box, read it anyway because I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Or you can always buy a box here in my online shop.
